When our founder, Laurie, first started Blue Canoe she really wanted to do yoga wearing natural fabrics rather than synthetics. She knew that cotton fabric would allow air flow, limit sweating, and feel soft against her skin. She didn’t like the feel of synthetics and knew that fabrics such as nylon and polyester have numerous negative effects on the ecosystem. Polyester is created by a chemical process from substances extracted from oil and oil refining is the most prevalent contributor to global warming. Polyester and nylon do not biodegrade, but off-gas toxins for many years in landfills. When washed, synthetic fabrics shed tiny microplastics that enter our waterways and eventually the ocean.

Our Baby Boot Cut legging is a great pant for yoga. It has 4-way stretch, doesn’t lose its shape, is flattering and comfortable, and it’s made of cotton. But that’s not all. Because we use only organically grown cotton, these yoga pants are not responsible for the use of any pesticides or herbicides. Who knew that buying cotton could constitute a small step toward helping the planet?

All our garments are pre-shrunk.
For longest wear we suggest:
Gentle Machine Wash Cool.
No Bleach. Line Dry.
Cool iron if needed.
If your garment has stretched out slightly with wear a warm dryer will reshape.
We cannot accept returns of washed items.
