A tank top is an essential piece in everybody’s closet. Even if you don’t wear a tank top on its own it has uses as a warming layer or to increase modesty under a sheer top or sweater. It can be worn under a blazer or jacket without creating too much heat. It also can be a wonderful lounge or sleep piece, and our bamboo version is the ultimate in soft, silky sleepwear.
The Blue Canoe brand is all about sustainability. We were founded in 1994 as an organic fashion line made entirely in the USA. We use exclusively natural plant-based fibers that are organically grown. Our domestic manufacturing is a guarantee that the workers who sew your clothes are paid a fair wage and work in a safe, pleasant environment. This is in stark contrast to working conditions of many overseas operations.
<n addition, we use a dye process that is safe and non-toxic and hyper-allergenic. Because all our fabrics come from nature, the fibers can be dyed using something called fiber reactive dyes. This means they react with the natural fiber, actually entering the fiber, rather than coating is as do dyes for synthetics. No toxic fixatives need to be used. There is less excess dye going into the waste stream. </p>
